It’s no surprise that Delray is growing and growing, which is great! A bustling economy not only helps to promote our local businesses, but also helps to attract businesses to the City. With the help of the CRA, one of those businesses found a new home in Delray and is settling nicely into their new office.

“Premier Virtual’s relocation to the City of Delray Beach within the CRA District and their plans to renovate a commercial space for expansion are a couple factors that made them eligible candidates for the funding assistance awards,” said Alexina Jeannite, CRA community engagement director. “The company was awarded funding through two of the CRA’s programs: Site Development Assistance to help with the cost of renovating a commercial space and Rent Subsidy to help offset the costs of operations as they plan for growth.”

Site Development Assistance will help Premier Virtual with renovations to their new premises, which was an existing commercial space leased “as-is.” The funding will be used to make improvements that will address employee safety and comfortability in the workplace as well as to make some interior and exterior aesthetic improvements.
Rent Subsidy funding will make monthly rent subsidy payments to help Premier Virtual offset the cost of operations as they plan for growth. The company is a top-ranked virtual event platform with plans to create at least 15 new jobs in Delray.
The total funding amount for the Site Development Assistance and Rent Subsidy was $36,400 and $6,000, respectively.
Funding assistance awards help promote economic development and revitalization, aids in job creation, and ultimately adds to the tax base. It’s also a great way to help Delray stay as an attractive location for professional and personal growth!
According to Jeannite, Delray Beach has been home to Premier Virtual for less than six months and the company is already making significant contributions to the City. Not only have they expanded their own workforce to a team of more than 15 full-timers, the top ranked virtual platform company is collaborating with the Delray Beach Business Assistance Task Force to host a much-anticipated virtual job fair (coming in early August) that will help fill hundreds of local jobs. The Delray Beach Business Assistance Task Force is a partnership of the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, the City of Delray Beach, the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Development Authority.
“A Site Development Assistance award to Premier Virtual will help further advance the CRA’s mission by supporting a commercial improvement project that will result in the renovation of an existing commercial space within the CRA District,” Jeannite said. “Assisting businesses with the cost of interior and exterior improvements helps to eliminate blighted conditions and promote business activity in Sub-Area #5 of the CRA District.”
