Local business, Hatcher Construction & Development, Inc., will not only be creating a new office space for themselves, but will also open up the space to other local businesses that might need a location to operate and thrive.
By using two of the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency’s (CRA) Incentive Programs, the Land Value Investment Program and the Development Infrastructure Assistance Program, the development company plans to construct a two-story, 6,000-square-foot building within the West Atlantic Corridor.
“This project provides an opportunity for a local, small business owner to participate in the redevelopment effort and provide a permanent business location within the West Atlantic Corridor, while providing space for other local, small businesses,” said Ivan Cabrera, redevelopment manager for the CRA.
Hatcher Construction and Development, Inc. is a full-service construction company, general contractor, design-builder, and construction manager with an office location in Delray Beach Florida since 1999. William and Jeff Hatcher launched their business with a goal of providing superior quality and craftsmanship to the regions construction industry. Since 1999, Hatcher has been a family-run business, providing solutions at any phase of development, from concept through completion. Recent projects include the Delray Beach CRA, Arts Warehouse, and Wellington Landings Middle School.
Hatcher Construction & Development, Inc. will occupy 2,000 square feet of the space, and the remaining space will be used as rental space for office and retail businesses. In addition, 25% of the leasable floor area will be offered at a discounted rate over a seven-year period.
Helping local businesses thrive falls in line with the CRA mission of working to foster and directly assist in the redevelopment of the Community Redevelopment Area in order to eliminate blight, create a sustainable downtown and encourage economic growth.
The developer has submitted the site plan for review by the City Development Services Department and is awaiting approval. The CRA approved a Ground Lease Agreement for 20 and 26 N.W. Sixth Avenue with Hatcher Construction & Development, Inc. in fiscal year 2018-2019. Once all plans have been approved, construction is anticipated to begin fiscal year 2021-2022.
