Site Development Assistance Program Awarded to Marion Associates
We are so proud to announce that another local business was able to improve their services earlier this year, thanks to one of our funding programs!
Marion Associates received funding through our Site Development Assistance Program, which provided reimbursement for improvements made to the property, including interior and exterior commercial property improvements. They specifically used the funds for renovation expenses and the almost 1,500-square-foot office building expansion, landscaping, commercial property permit fees, and the installation of an ADA-compliant ramp and bathroom.
The property, located at 131 N.W. First Ave., is also in the Old School Square Historic District, so they also worked with the Historic Preservation board to maintain the historic charm of the building while revitalizing it for their business purposes.
“This funding helps improve the community by encouraging economic growth by investing in the small business community of Delray Beach,” said Rachelle Eloizin, CRA Community Liaison. “The CRA is thrilled to have supported this business as they continue to grow.”
Marion Associates, LLC is a management services company, founded by Joseph Marion. The business, which originally provided book-keeping, meeting planning, and record keeping services for non-profit associations, now provides a full line of management services including business development, marketing, web maintenance, and charity fundraising.
Marion Associates originally anticipated the project would take about 12 months and due to the pandemic, they experienced many delays that pushed the project completion an additional year. The ribbon cutting for this project was held on July 28, 2022 and Joseph Marion was able to express his plans to expand his business operations and bring more business activity to the district.
“The Site Development Assistance Program helps achieve the CRA mission by supporting commercial improvement projects like this one. This funding is reserved for existing commercial spaces within the CRA district and results in the elimination of blighted conditions promoting additional business activity in the CRA district,” Eloizin said.
We are excited to have helped owners in the CRA District with the funding programs so not only can the small business owners reach their goals, but also so that the community benefits overall!
