Boost Your Home’s Curb Appeal with the CRA’s Improvement Program
If you’re a homeowner in the Northwest and Southwest Neighborhoods and yearn for an enhancement in your home’s curb appeal, the CRA wants to connect with you!
The CRA’s Curb Appeal Residential Improvement Program is specially designed to counteract slum and blight within the CRA District. It does this by providing grants to single-family residential property owners located in the Northwest and Southwest Neighborhoods of the CRA District. The ultimate aim is to offer financial support for minor exterior property improvements, consequently elevating the aesthetics of residential dwellings and boosting property value.
This program, established in 2007, has aided countless homeowners with critical functional and aesthetic enhancements. You could be the next beneficiary!
Grants are available at two funding levels, with a maximum award limit of $15,000. Only one grant may be awarded per applicant within any fiscal year (October 1 through September 30), but homeowners may reapply for this grant every five years.
Full Grant – This encompasses all costs related to eligible improvements, as approved by the CRA Board, up to a maximum of $15,000 per residential parcel.
Matching Grant – This covers 50% of the costs for eligible improvements, as approved by the CRA Board, up to $15,000 per residential parcel. The property owner is responsible for covering the difference between the grant award and the total improvement costs.
Grants can be utilized to tackle various home and curb items, such as:
- Exterior painting
- Replacement of missing or rotten siding related to exterior painting
- Pressure cleaning in relation to exterior painting
- Landscaping and irrigation for street-visible areas
- Permanent driveway repairs/walkway
- Mailbox replacement
- Replacement of house numbers
- Roof repair or replacement *(Only applicable for non-insured homeowners)
Enhancing the aesthetics of neighborhoods in the CRA District through the “curb appeal” of single-family residential properties aligns with the CRA’s mission. This initiative contributes to the elimination of blight, the creation of a sustainable downtown, and the stimulation of economic growth within the District.
