Three Local Businesses Have Been Selected to Occupy the First Floor Bays
While we were so excited just months ago to let you know that our 98 N.W. Fifth Ave. project was finally complete, we are now even more excited to let you know that we have approved tenants! There has been so much interest in this project and we are proud to announce the first three tenants who get to call this new space home are Dee and Sam Woods of Rabbit Hole, Lucinda Charles of Touch of Posh, and Dustin Wright of Atlantic Current.
The building located at 98 N.W. 5th Avenue was designed to revitalize and encourage economic activity within the CRA District with the goal to provide affordable rental commercial space. The property is owned by the CRA, which will ensure its affordability for years to come.
The Rabbit Hole has offered vegan comfort food since beginning in 2019 in a small restaurant space of about 900 square feet. In addition to their Pompano locations, they’ve sought out a location in Delray Beach as a way to both plant roots as well as create a pivotal point for their business.
“We are very excited for 98 N.W. Fifth Ave. to again create something completely innovative and unique to the area. The rich history of Delray Beach is to be honored and explored throughout the space. We will shine a light on the glory that exists on Fifth Avenue and throughout,” said Dee, founder, who creates American comfort food without the use of any animal products. “We are thrilled to highlight vegan cuisine through a cafe in Delray Beach. We hope to provide a go-to space for culture, history and refreshments. Our inspiration for the space is some of the many tiny cafes in the 9th Arrondissement in Paris. The spaces are cozy, yet feel expansive with culture and identity. That is what we strive to offer.”
Touch of Posh is another fantastic and local business that will benefit from our new affordable commercial space. Currently located in the Santa Fe Salon Suites in Downtown Delray, Touch of Posh is where beauty and luxury meet, according to owner and founder Lucinda, who started the business in 2016.
“With this new location at 98 N.W. Fifth Ave., I plan to create a supportive workspace for aspiring young women in the community who wish to excel in their craft and grow their own businesses. Specializing in luxury hair services, Touch of Posh salon will be dedicated to providing exceptional artistry and personalized experiences that enhance natural beauty, boost confidence, and create stunning hairstyles and flawless makeup looks, with a strong emphasis on client satisfaction in a welcoming and tranquil environment,” Lucinda. “This opportunity will give me the space I need achieve a few goals I’ve envisioned for Touch of Posh. The aim is to give back to the community by providing education and mentorship, empowering these women to become entrepreneurs and trailblazers in their own right.”
Another business is extremely excited to call 98 N.W. Fifth Ave. home. Atlantic Current, which Dustin started in 2012 in his Delray Beach apartment before he even graduated from FAU, is a free local magazine highlighting the coastal culture of Palm Beach County. In the past 12 years Dustin has grown the business to include content, creative and marketing services, but always kept the most public-facing aspect of the business as the print publication.
“We have been remote since COVID and may not have gotten back into an office space anytime soon had it not been for this opportunity,” said Dustin, who feels that the return to Delray over a decade later feels like coming full circle. “I’ve been looking for some time, but the rents have gotten so crazy that it’s hard to justify. Having an affordable office space to call our own in the town where I started the business is truly a special opportunity.”
Dustin plans to use his space as both a workspace and as the company’s photo studio, hoping to not only showcase the happenings in Delray but to also be a positive part of the change and growth.
Welcome, tenants! We can’t wait to see what you’ll achieve.
