Takeout in Style during Delray Restaurant Month
Sure, the pandemic has changed nearly all of our summer plans and City-wide events, but at least we can take a little breather knowing that we’re slowly but surely getting back to a little bit of normalcy this month. Instead of the usual Delray Beach Restaurant Week that we look forward to all year, the City has extended the event for the entire month to give guests more time and much needed space to enjoy their favorite restaurants while discovering some new favorites.
Brought to you by the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority, Restaurant Month is held the entire month of August and participating restaurants offer prix fixe breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, dine-out deals and quick pick-up meals, culinary events (in-person and virtual), and more. It’s a great way to get a taste of what the Avenue has to offer so you’re ready when we get the green light to hit the dining scene once again.
As an added bonus, you can participate in the Restaurant Month Bingo game for a chance to win restaurant gift cards and a staycation at the Courtyard Marriott in Downtown Delray Beach.
To not only support your local eateries, but also give yourself a much-needed break from the daily grind of your home kitchen, here are some deals that are too delicious to pass up:
Brulé Bistro: This unique chic-yet-casual bistro serving modern, American cuisine is dishing out a $48 tasting menu for dinner that’s available for dine in, take out or delivery. Enjoy Lump Crab & Corn Vichysoisse, Kale and Brussels Sprouts Salad, Colorado Rack of Lamb, and a Banana Walnut French Toast.
Mellow Mushroom: Keeping the vibe cool, calm and collected, the good people at Mellow Mushroom are offering not only a $25 prix fixe lunch and dinner menu (one munchie, one medium specialty pie and one dessert), they’re also dishing out Make Your Own Pizza kits. The kits include dough, cheese, sauce, corn meal and printed instructions, and cost $10 for a small kit and $14 for a medium kit (toppings are extra).
Papa’s Tapas: If you can’t join the Spanish party at Papa’s Tapas, they’ll provide the party to go. Take advantage of their “Off the Avenue” menu, available on Wednesdays for take out and dine in, and enjoy some of their specialties like Base Filet, Arroz Con Pollo and Shredded Pork for only $15. Make it a real party with their homemade sangria for $24 and cha-cha your way into the most at-home, fun fiesta you can get.
The Original Popcorn House: This gourmet popcorn house is pulling out all the stops to keep your summer fun popping. In addition to weekly specials (popcorn sundae, 15% off tins, BOGO bag specials, and 15% off samplers), they’re also hosting a Beer + Popcorn virtual pairing with Hopportunities on Saturday, August 22 at 3 p.m. for $35.
