Building a Stronger Delray Beach, One Project at a Time
Delray Beach CRA: Quarterly Update Highlights
The Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) continues making strides toward revitalizing neighborhoods and business corridors through ongoing projects, community partnerships, and strategic development. In the latest quarterly update, Executive Director Renée Jadusingh shares key highlights from the first two quarters of Fiscal Year 2024-2025.
We kicked things off with a major milestone: the ribbon cutting of Blanc Beauty Salon, one of our legacy businesses. After 35 years on West Atlantic Avenue, they’ve officially moved into their new home at the William Hatcher building. It was a proud moment for the CRA, the City, and the Chamber, all coming together to celebrate this important piece of Delray’s small business community.
This quarter, we also gave a behind-the-scenes look at how we do business—primarily through monthly CRA board meetings and workshops. These meetings are where key decisions happen: voting on projects, reviewing updates, and gathering public input. If you want a deeper dive into what’s happening, we encourage you to check out our monthly reports, which include updates on construction projects, property maintenance, Arts Warehouse happenings, the Delray GreenMarket, and more.
One of our recent workshops took a closer look at the West Atlantic Master Plan—also known as The Set Transformation Plan. This plan focuses on placemaking, civic pride, healthy living, and education. We also discussed ways to attract more essential services, like banks, grocery stores, and pharmacies, to the West Atlantic corridor. To support this, the CRA has put out a request for commercial realtors to help bring those businesses into the neighborhood.
Affordable housing was another big focus. The CRA is moving forward with an innovative townhouse project on NW 7th Avenue that will include accessory dwelling units (ADUs)—something not currently found elsewhere in Delray Beach. These additional spaces give owners flexibility for extended family, rental income, or home offices. We’ve shared early designs with the board and the community, and we’re now heading toward site plan approval and construction.
We’re grateful for the continued support of our residents and partners. Stay connected by reading our monthly reports and following us on social media for real-time updates. Big things are happening—and we’re just getting started.
