We’re excited to report that the momentum has continued to grow in 2023, and we’re wrapping up the fiscal year with our last quarterly update!
In July we had a groundbreaking for the 95 S.W. Fifth Avenue building. We started this project a few years ago because we saw a need for affordable office space in the area. At the groundbreaking, we celebrated with our commissioners, members of the public, and our contractor Ahrens Construction, and our architect Song + Associates. Next year there will be a brand new building at this location, and we can’t wait!
“It was a really exciting event and we’re so happy to start this project that will be a great asset for the community,” said Renee Jadusingh, executive director for the CRA.
Traveling a few blocks north to 98 N.W. Fifth Avenue, we recently completed that development and had a ribbon cutting. We had incredible community support, a lot of members of the public joined us, as well as our commissioners, City staff and City commissioners. It was a wonderful turnout and a clear representation of the community’s support for this project.
After the ribbon cutting we held an open house where we opened our doors and let everyone see the incredible work that we did to make this project come to be. To really connect with our community members, we then held a CRA Social where we hosted a very lively discussion with some of the members of the public about projects we’re working on and things we want to do in the future.
Now that the building is complete, we’re in the process of searching for tenants for the ground floor and a co-working operator for the top floor. In the next few months we’re excited to hopefully open our doors to the new tenants who will be occupying the space and adding value to our community.
Now, let’s talk about infrastructure! A few years ago we started an infrastructure improvement project at Osceola Park. This project started in 2020, which was not the best time to start a major infrastructure project because of the pandemic, but it was important to us to continue the progress that we’ve been doing in our community.
We are happy to update you that we are now almost finished with this project! There is only one street left to be completed before the project is 100% complete. For more information about this specific project, please visit OsceolaParkProject.com.
In an effort to engage our community members and learn more about how we can benefit our community, this quarter we launched the Redevelopment Advisory Committee. This committee will consist of five members of the public who are property owners in the CRA District. This new committee will meet about four times a year to discuss topics that are coming before the CRA Board to hopefully gain great community input on projects that we are doing at the CRA.
This is our last quarterly update of this fiscal year, and we appreciate you being a part of the process! As always, please stay connected by visiting DelrayCRA.org, following us on social media or by calling (561) 276-8640.
