Shirley Johnson’s Term Ends as the Delray Beach CRA Board Chair
While we are sad that Shirley Johnson’s term as a CRA Board Chair has come to an end, we are so thankful and grateful for her service, input and insight throughout the years!
“It is bittersweet to write this message as March marks the close of my term as Chair on the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Board,” Johnson said. “I am proud to leave this position knowing that, thanks to the leadership and efforts of so many, our organization has positively impacted lives in the spaces we live, learn, play, and work to continue our momentum in improving the vibrant ‘Village by the Sea.’”
Johnson served on the Board since 2018, which is when she was also serving as part of the City Commission.
During her time as Board Chair, she felt that the work she and the other Board members were doing helped to support small businesses and improve the private property of homeowners.
While she says that her biggest excitement is the change and work that continues to be performed in the Northeast, Northwest, Southwest and Southeast neighborhoods, there is no one project that she can point to with great satisfaction.
“We all wear many hats, but that of Chair was one that I am especially proud to have worn,” said Johnson, who grew up in Delray’s Northwest neighborhood. “It has been a sincere pleasure, honor and privilege to be a part of it all. I’m inspired by how much we accomplished!”
Best of luck in your future endeavors, Shirley! We appreciate all that you’ve done to improve the Delray community for the benefit of all community members.
