Bringing Integrative Skincare to the Heart of the CRA District
A new tenant is preparing to bring holistic skincare and wellness to the heart of the CRA District. Sun Up Skin, founded by holistic and clinical licensed esthetician Chandler Hamilton, is building out its new South Florida location at the Edmonds Baine Building (98 NW 5th Avenue), with services already available to the community in the meantime.
Sun Up Skin grew out of Hamilton’s own interest in integrative health, shaped by nearly a decade living in the Caribbean and her own years-long struggle with cystic acne. That background informs the studio’s philosophy, which centers on restorative skincare rituals rather than quick fixes. “To me, skincare is based around consistent rituals that optimize our skin health,” Hamilton said. “That starts with nourishing and strengthening our skin barrier, and then strategic active ingredients and advanced modalities when needed.”
At the Delray Beach location, Sun Up Skin will specialize in massage-focused facials, including sculptural massage, lymphatic drainage, and buccal massage, with every session customized to the client. The studio also plans to offer community workshops on holistic health, intimate sound baths, and restorative yoga classes.
For Hamilton, the move was a natural fit for both her business and her family, drawn by the city’s active community, slower pace, and vibrant Haitian community. She also spoke to the significance of opening in the historic West Settlers District, known as The Set. “I feel honored to be able to work in the Set, which has such a rich history and is a significant part of what makes Delray Beach so special,” she said.
The CRA’s affordable commercial space and funding assistance played a direct role in making the location possible. Hamilton credited the agency with helping her small business establish a physical home in Delray Beach, describing the team as kind, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout a process that can otherwise feel daunting.
The space is still taking shape. Buildout had not yet begun as of this blog post, with design and permitting underway, and Hamilton hopes construction will begin over the summer, with an opening as early as August. She envisions a multicultural environment infused with Haitian art and thoughtful details. “I hope Sun Up Skin can be the place you come to exhale, disconnect from the chaos of the world, and reground within,” she said.
