Welcoming the First Two Tenants at the Edmonds Baine Building
The Delray Beach CRA recently marked a milestone at the Edmonds Baine Building with a ribbon cutting celebrating its first two tenants, Atlantic Current and StellaMix. The event brought together community partners, local leaders, and supporters to recognize the growth of these businesses and the role affordable commercial space plays in helping them thrive.
For StellaMix founder Janine Stella, the ribbon cutting was both emotional and affirming. “Honestly, it was surreal in the best way,” she said. “I’m usually the one behind the scenes celebrating everyone else, so being on the receiving end felt incredibly humbling.” She described the moment as one that validated years of hard work. “It felt validating — not just for the business, but for the years of grit, risk, late nights, and believing in StellaMix before it looked the way it does today.”
Stella shared that this milestone felt different from others in her career. “This one hit differently,” she said. “I’ve had wins before — launches, growth spurts, big client moments — but this felt like a true foundation milestone.” Having a permanent space that reflects the company’s vision made the success feel tangible and lasting. “It’s not just a success moment; it’s a we’re here and we’re building something that lasts moment.”
Community support was a highlight for Stella as well. “Seeing that level of support was overwhelming in the best way,” she said. “It reminded me that StellaMix isn’t just a business — it’s part of a community.” The presence of the CRA, DDA, Chamber, friends, and clients reinforced that sense of shared belief. “That kind of support is something I’ll never take for granted.”
Looking ahead, Stella emphasized how critical affordable office space has been to her business. “Affordable office space has been a game-changer,” she said. “It’s allowed me to grow responsibly, invest back into the business, and create a space that serves our clients and our community without financial strain.” She added that the space offers room for future expansion, from hosting events to supporting more creators.
For Atlantic Current founder Dustin Wright, the moment carried special significance. “It was honestly such a great experience to be recognized that way,” Wright said. “We’ve been in business for over 13 years and it was a special opportunity to look back on how far we’ve come to arrive here.”
Reflecting on where the ribbon cutting fits among past accomplishments, Wright noted that this milestone stood out. “This was one of the more memorable ones in my career,” he shared. “We get a lot of recognition from customers, people we feature, things like that — but to have public recognition and support like we did at the ribbon cutting was very special.” He added that seeing his family there, alongside community partners, made the experience even more impactful.
Wright also emphasized how meaningful it was to see support from across the city. “That was really great to see,” he said. “I have gotten close with the CRA team over the years and their support has always been amazing. But to have the DDA, Delray Chamber, and CRA board there and to get to hear them speak about my business meant a lot.”
Access to affordable office space at the Edmonds Baine Building has been instrumental in Atlantic Current’s continued growth. “For a business our size, getting access to a space like this at this stage of our business is huge,” Wright explained. “It has allowed us to grow our in person team, offer new services, and further legitimize our business to clients. And for me personally, it gives me a true sense of pride coming to work every day.”
The ribbon cutting at the Edmonds Baine Building reflects the CRA’s continued commitment to fostering local business growth along NW 5th Avenue. By providing affordable, thoughtfully designed commercial space, the CRA is helping entrepreneurs turn long-term vision into lasting presence within the community.
