Visual Adjectives Moves into CRA-Owned Cottage at 186 NW 5th Avenue, Expanding Their Creative Mission
Visual Adjectives, a creative publishing and production company, has officially transitioned from the CRA owned Arts Warehouse Resident Artist Program to one of the CRA-owned historic cottages at 186 NW 5th Avenue. The move is more than just a change of address; it’s a major milestone for a business that has spent years growing, refining, and shaping its mission in Delray Beach’s vibrant creative community.
“Moving from the vibrant, collaborative halls of the Arts Warehouse into our own dedicated space feels like stepping into a story we’ve been writing for years,” said Michelle Stinson, co-founder of Visual Adjectives. “It’s a milestone that reflects growth, not just in square footage, but in vision, voice, and value.”
That growth is evident in what comes next. Visual Adjectives plans to expand its publishing services and launch new workshops that blend storytelling with visual art, collaborating with local authors, illustrators, and educators along the way. The new space, described by Michelle as a “creative sanctuary,” offers the team a platform to nurture new ideas and deepen their engagement with the local community.
Alongside Visual Adjectives is Serenity Soul, a new retail concept born out of a moment of writer’s block. Offering aromatherapy and metaphysical tools, Serenity Soul invites visitors to reconnect with their creative spirit through scent, ritual, and intention. “It’s not just a store,” Michelle said, “it’s a portal to the parts of ourselves we often overlook.”
Visual Adjectives’ time at the Arts Warehouse played a key role in their development. “The Arts Warehouse was our incubator. It gave us room to experiment, connect, and refine our offerings,” Michelle shared. “Being surrounded by other creatives and supported by the CRA’s vision helped us sharpen our identity as ‘curators of intellectual properties.’”
That journey now continues in a new chapter on NW 5th Avenue—a corridor rich with culture and history. “To be part of this community is to honor its legacy while contributing to its future,” said Michelle. “We’re not just setting up shop, we’re becoming neighbors, collaborators, and storytellers in a district that pulses with creativity.”
With upcoming workshops like “Define & Design” and “Digital Ink,” as well as a youth storytelling lab and community events on the horizon, the team at Visual Adjectives is just getting started. The CRA’s support, from subsidized rent to access to a larger community network, has been instrumental in making this next phase possible.
“We’re here not just to create, but to co-create,” Michelle said. “Whether you’re an aspiring author, a curious reader, or someone who simply believes in the power of story, our door is open.”
