The Delray Beach CRA is hiring a Finance & Operations Manager. The full-time position is based at 20 N. Swinton Avenue, reports to the CRA’s Finance and Operations Director, and carries a salary range of $75,000 to $125,000.
A Finance Career Supporting Community Redevelopment in Delray Beach
The posting describes a highly responsible role in the operation and direction of financial accounting systems for the CRA and its affiliated entities. In practice, that covers a wide range of work. The manager will assist with preparing annual operating budgets and budget amendments, review accounts payable functions including credit card transactions, analyze controls and disburse funds in compliance with GASB reporting requirements, and prepare records and schedules for the annual audit. The role also participates in human resources functions, including payroll and benefits, and helps manage and maintain contract records and files.
One part of the job connects directly to the CRA’s work in the community. The Finance & Operations Manager will assist with overseeing and implementing the CRA’s Funding Assistance Programs, which provide financial support to businesses, property owners, and nonprofits in the CRA District.
Finance work at a redevelopment agency carries a public responsibility. Every dollar the CRA invests in the district has to be tracked, reported, and audited, which makes this role part of how the agency stays accountable to the residents it serves.
Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business and at least five years of professional accounting experience, including experience in a nonprofit or government environment. Knowledge of government or fund accounting is required, along with a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. An MBA or CPA is preferred. The position is full-time and exempt, at 40 hours per week.
Interested candidates can email a resume and cover letter to crahr@mydelraybeach.com. The full job description is posted on the CRA’s Employment page at delraycra.org/employment.
Each role at the CRA connects to the agency’s work in the district, and this one sits at the center of how that work is funded and accounted for. For someone with a background in government or nonprofit finance, it is a chance to put that experience toward the continued redevelopment of Delray Beach.
