Coming Soon: Easter Bonnet Pet Parade!
Oh, I could write a sonnet
About your beagle’s bonnet
With all the ribbons on it
At the Easter Parade…
When Irving Berlin wrote the lyrics to Easter Parade, he probably never imagined a beagle in a bonnet. But you might see one on Saturday, April 23 when the GreenMarket hosts its 10th Annual Easter Bonnet Pet Parade! Domestic pets of all types are invited to don their finest hats, hoods, visors, bonnets, and other fancy headgear and compete for prizes in one of six categories: Most Traditional, Most Original, Funniest Bonnet, Most Tropical, Most Frou-Frou, and Owner-Pet Look-Alike.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
Registration for the pet parade begins at 9 a.m. at Old School Square; suggested donations of $2 per registered pet will be collected to benefit the Animal Rescue Force. Led by local celebrity judges, the parade starts at 10 a.m. and proceeds east along the Atlantic Avenue sidewalk to the GreenMarket at SE 4th Avenue, where participants will line up to be officially judged, photographed, and admired.
See You in A Week!
Remember, the GreenMarket will be closed this Saturday, April 16, when Atlantic Avenue is sealed off to vehicular traffic for The Delray Affair. We re-open on April 23rd for our colorful, always-entertaining pet parade. Don’t miss it!
