CRA Funded Projects Infill Development at Tennis Center
Architect/Engineer: TBD Contact: Diane Colonna, CRA Executive Director, 276-8640 Project Description: The Downtown Master Plan identified several "gaps" in development along West Altantic Avenue that discourage the flow of pedestrian movements from east to west. One of the most critical is the tennis center parking lot that fronts on West Atlantic Avenue between NW 1st and 3rd Avenues. The plan calls for replacing the parking with small shops that would be compatible with the architecture of the Tennis Center Clubhouse. Parking for the tennis center would be relocated along NW 3rd Avenue and in the library/courthouse parking garage. When City staff began to research the potential use of this property for commercial purposes they discovered that deed restrictions on some of the lots limit their use for public purposes only. Additional legal research is necessary before the feasibility of this project can be fully determined. |
