Vendor Spotlight: Diane Z., Fun with FoodBooth pictures 068

Whoever says you shouldn’t play with food hasn’t met Diane Z. from Fun with Food. This unique GreenMarket vendor is an artisan bakery, specializing in high end gluten-free, paleo-gluten free, dairy free, gluten free-dairy free and grain free organic baked goods. That’s a lot of frees!

For three years, Diane has been grinding her own nut flours and mixing her own gluten free flours to ensure top quality in all her products. Diane shared, “My biggest joy is preparing products my clients will love and devour,” says Diane. “When I have a client that needs something extra ‘special’ I’m on a mission to conquer!”

How did your business come about?

I started my company teaching children how to cook and eat in a healthy way.. The Sun-Sentinel came to one of my cooking classes and loved my concept. The food editor interviewed me and asked if I would consider writing a column in their paper, which I had for two years. I’ve also been syndicated in other publications across the United States.

I began to hold cooking classes for adults as well, and realized how many people have food allergies. Hence, I developed my healthful and decadent, gluten free products. My mission was to develop these gluten free products, which tasted great! And, best of all, anyone with or without gluten issues can enjoy them.

Top three words to describe your products.

Quality, organic, and delish!

Assorted nuts, organic coconut oil and raw organic cocoa.

One of my favorite places in the world is San Francisco, I love the restaurants, the vineyards, (Napa & Sonoma) the wharf, the charm and ambiance of the city. And, riding on the cable cars!

If you could host a dinner party with anyone, who would you invite?

The guest list would include: Barbara Streisand, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Buffet, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Kerry Washington, Meryl Streep, Will Ferrell, Angeline Jolie, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Adam Sandler, and Dustin Hoffman. Needless to say, it would be a musical, rock ‘n roll party with great humor, good conversation and of course fabulous food!
