Long-time Assistant Director Promoted to Top Position

Delray Beach, FL, January 12, 2015 – Following the departure of longtime director Diane Colonna, Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) begins the year under the leadership of Jeff Costello, who has been with the agency since 2007. Costello was officially named executive director at the December 11, 2014 CRA Commission meeting. Colonna’s last day with the agency was January 2, 2015.

A Pennsylvania native, Costello is a graduate of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in Environmental Planning. He began his career upon graduation in 1988 as a planner with the City of Delray Beach. He continued there through 2005, when he accepted a private sector job with New Urban Communities. But, just two years later, returned to the public sector as the CRA Assistant Director.

Costello is responsible for overseeing all CRA district projects, budgeting, planning and economic development, as well as development of new initiatives, marketing, and management of the CRA staff.

“There is no doubt I have some rather big shoes to fill,” says Costello. “I am honored the CRA Board appointed me to succeed Diane and privileged to have this opportunity. With our talented staff and board we will continue the momentum in fulfillment of the CRA’s and City’s revitalization and economic development initiatives.” To learn more about other CRA projects and initiatives, visit the CRA website at www.delraycra.org or call the CRA office at (561) 276-8640.
